SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS
The Haledon Board of Education advises local citizens that the following seats are
available on the Haledon Board of Education:

Nominating petitions are available in the office of the Haledon Board of Education,
70 Church Street, Haledon, New Jersey, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The
petitions must be filed with the Business Administrator/Board Secretary no later than
4:00 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2012. The election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 17, 2012.
Candidates filing a nominating petition for board membership must meet the following
qualifications:

A citizen of the United States
-
At least eighteen (18) years of age to qualify for office

Able to read and write
-
Resident of Haledon for at least one year preceding the date of election.

Registered voter in the district.
-
Have no interest in any contract with, or claim against, the board.

Not disqualified from membership for the conviction of crimes pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1.
-
Not disqualified as a voter pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:4-1.

MEETING DATE CHANGE
Please be advised that the Regular Meetings of the Haledon Public School District
Board of Education scheduled for February 7, 2012 and February 21, 2012 have
been cancelled. There will be one meeting in February which will take place on Tuesday,
February 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Educational Library/Media
Center located at 91 Henry Street, Haledon, NJ.
